JOYFUL POUR
To explore and refine my diverse set of skills I've created a personal project where I focused on the magazine layout and branding of a made up coffee shop, Joyful Pour. What pushed me to complete this project was my love for coffee and a stance for more visually striking and informative books/ magazines in coffee places for a greater experience and atmosphere.

I have used royalty free stock images since this was a short, quick project and also focused more on the layout and branding. I made sure than all the images were relevant and associated with the information written on the same page.
I used a 5 column grid layout to have room for creative freedom in order for every page to be unique. The bubble font 'HWT Gothic Round' was used to give a sense of utilization hence the menu page. The 'Britannic Bold' font was used to add a hint of elegance in the magazine design while also ensuring the writing is easily readable.
When designing the brand and its logo I went through trial and error and ended up using a combination of two fonts, 'Ohno Blazeface' and 'Nove'. The name Joyful Pour highlights the joy you get by visiting a café, how full you get by eating and drinking the food and the emotions that pour out through the experience and the atmosphere.
I tried to incorporate elegance with warmth through the use of white space, careful placement and bubbly headings. Overall I focused on exploring grids, white space and balance in this project.
